Pete Dymock, MS, AMFT

Adolescent Therapy

Adolescence is a period of rapid emotional, relational and neurological development. I offer teens a space to slow down, make sense of their experiences, and build skills for navigating stress, relationships and identity. I work with adolescents (12-18) who may be experiencing:• Anxiety, persistent worry, anger, withdrawal or avoidance
• School stress or burnout
• Emotional regulation challenges
• Identity exploration or self-esteem concerns, particularly in young men
• Executive functioning difficulties (organization, focus, follow-through)Sessions are collaborative and emphasize awareness, emotional language and practical tools. Parent involvement is handled intentionally and collaboratively, and may include parent consultations, periodic check-ins and coordination around goals.I am also the founder of The Mind Mentor, a coaching program for adolescent boys, which is distinct from my psychotherapy practice.
Individual Therapy

Individual therapy offers a space to better understand emotional patterns, relationships and internal experiences, especially during periods of transition or stress. I work with adults navigating:• Emotional overwhelm or anxiety
• Relationship stress and attachment themes
• Life transitions, including new parents
• Questions of meaning, identity or purposeMy approach to therapy is integrative, focusing on current life issues and relationships as well as challenges that originate from childhood experiences and may have been neglected or repressed in adulthood. I am a clear communicator with a compassionate yet direct approach: you can expect me to listen attentively but also hold you accountable to ways of thinking or being that may be limiting your progress.
Couples Therapy

Couples therapy can help partners better understand relational patterns, improve communication, and heal emotional disconnection. I work with couples experiencing:• Communication difficulties
• Emotional disconnection or recurring conflict
• Stress related to life transitions (parenthood, career changes, loss)My work with couples is systems-based and emotionally focused, helping partners identify cycles, understand underlying emotions, and create new ways of relating to each other.

Pete Dymock, MS, AMFTMy path to therapy has been shaped by over twelve years of experience as an educator—a profession that significantly informed my systems-oriented perspective. Working closely with students and families taught me that wellbeing is relational and rarely shaped in isolation, but rather by the interplay of relationships, environments and early childhood experiences, and their lasting influence on adult relationships.I provide therapy for adolescents and their families, adults and couples through attachment-based, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral frameworks. Much of my efforts focused on helping clients move from a place of emotional reactivity and disconnection toward increased contact, safety and trust; both within themselves and between others.I value therapy that is direct and unafraid to engage with complex or “difficult” topics in the service of understanding, connection or repair. My goal is to provide a nuturing and supportive place where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, uncover patterns from your past that are undermining your experience of the present, and develop a set of skills that are relevant and practical to the modern world.
